Canadian Visa/Immigration Medical

Dr Jolly and Dr Gunoy are designated physicians for the Canadian Immigration service. They carry out the medical examination for visa applications and immigration. To make an appointment please see the paragraph Making an appointment.
The doctors consult on Monday to Friday by appointment only.
The medical examination
The medical examination takes place in our consulting room in 34 rue de Chazelles, 75017 Paris. The nearest metro station is Monceau. The examination lasts a minimum of 30 minutes per adult followed by other tests carried out the same day (for these no appointment needed). Dr Jolly or Dr Gunoy will prescribe the obligatory blood test and chest X-ray during your appointment. You must not do them beforehand.
Allow at least 2-3 hours to complete everything.

You must bring along your passport and the Canadian embassy convocation paper (if applicable).
The doctors use the electronic eMedical system to record and send your medical file. We will take your photograph during the visit, so no need to bring passport photos.
After the medical examination
The doctor will send you to the Embassy-approved centres to do the necessary blood tests and chest X-rays. We will automatically receive the results of your X-ray and blood tests. You do not have to send them. We will telephone you if there are abnormal results. All the completed medical files are sent electronically to the eMedical General Canadian Immigration site within a week. For any queries after the medical exam, patients should contact the Embassy (not Dr Jolly or Dr Gunoy) to find out the status of the file.
PREGNANT WOMEN MUST BOOK A CHEST X-RAY APPOINTMENT FOR 1 HOUR AFTER THE MEDICAL VISIT. ALL OTHERS CAN CHOOSE TO EITHER BOOK AN APPOINTMENT OR WALK-IN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT TO THE X-RAY CENTRE. THE CHEST X-RAY MUST TAKE PLACE AFTER THE MEDICAL VISIT WITH A PRESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY OUR DOCTORS;
If pregnant you must book an appointment for a chest x-ray to take place after your medical. We only accept chest X-rays with Dr. Frédéric Zeitoun or Dr. Daniel Szwarc at the de Vinci Centre, 43 rue Cortambert, 75116 Paris. Telephone booking on 01 47 04 44 20. Internet booking use Doctolib "Centre d'imagerie médicale Leonard de Vinci" YOU CAN NOT GO WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT IF PREGNANT In the case of pregnancy, prior consent must be signed with Dr. Jolly or Dr. Gunoy prior to the X-ray.

Making an Appointment
The doctors consult on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, by appointment only. You must book 1 30- minute appointment for each applicant.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does the medical visit cost?
Adults (15 years and over) – Medical exam 250€, chest x-ray about 60 €, blood test about 30 €.
Children (under 15 years) – Medical exam 190€ No x-ray or blood test needed.
(These prices are identical for all the doctors who carry out the medical exam for the visa and are fixed by the Canadian Embassy. These are baseline costs. The doctor may need to add additional tests if she finds health problems during the examination. Please note that the medical visit may be paid for by bank cheque, cash or credit card.) - ATTENTION: Our doctors and secretaries will never contact you to ask you to pay the fees by phone or email. You must refuse to give your credit card details if someone contacts you claiming to be from our offices.
- Do you use the system eMedical?
Yes, we use the eMedical system. All the completed medical files are sent electronically to eMed General Canadian Immigration site. You do not, therefore, need to bring photos to the medical. - How long in advance do you need to book the medical visit?
In general, 1-2 weeks. - Where does the medical visit take place?
Dr Jolly and Dr Gunoy consult at 34 rue de Chazelles, 75017 Paris The chest x-ray and blood test take place in certified centres in the 16th and 17th. - How long does the medical take?
The medical examination lasts a minimum of 30 minutes per adult. Some are carried out (for these no appointment is needed and no need to be fasting). Dr Jolly or Dr Gunoy will prescribe the obligatory blood test and chest X-ray during your appointment. Please allow at least 2-3 hours to complete everything. - What do I need to bring along to the exam?
You must bring your passport and Canadian embassy convocation paper, which provides us with your case code. You will not have a number if your visa demand is Express Entry, work permit or student status related. You must also bring either cash, a bank cheque, or credit card to pay for the medical visit. You must bring a printed version of each of your 2 Covid vaccination certificates or only 1 in the case of Janssen. - Will I get the results immediately?
The doctors will automatically receive your x-ray and blood test results. We will telephone you if any of the results are abnormal. All the completed medical files (medical report IMM 1017B) are sent electronically via eMedical within a week and are then out of our hands. You must contact the Embassy (not Dr Jolly or Dr Gunoy) for further information about the file. - Do I need a convocation from the Embassy to carry out the medical visit?
No, you will not necessarily have a convocation if your visa demand is Express entry, work permit or student status related. In this case, the doctor will create an "upfront medical" on the eMedical site. - For how long does the completed medical file remain valid?
One year. If you have not received your visa within a year you must repeat and pay for another medical exam including X-ray and blood test. - I have booked my medical visit. What do I need to do before the visit?
If you have a convocation from the Embassy you must send us your code ICU or EMR via email.
